Professional History
Cathy's competitive students have had great successes in whatever their chosen discipline. In Hunter/Jumper these have ranged from local and national year end championships in all divisions from Short Stirrup to Junior Medal and
Beginner Hunters to Working Hunters.
In Combined Training and Pony Club they have worked their way up through the levels and ratings and have formed teams that excelled at rallies.
In Dressage they have competed locally and at Saratoga and they have formed Quadrille Teams that entertained many Christmas and Valentine's Day Audiences.
Cathy's non-competitive students have participated in some of the above activities, such as quadrille, but they have also learned how to trailer to a State Park and explore new trails, learned how to raise a foal, or simply enjoyed learning how to train their horse to be a willing, cooperative partner.
These students have ranged in age from small children to older adults and have come from all walks of life. Cathy says that every single one of them has taught her something new about horses and riding. She is constantly amazed and delighted by what people are prepared to do to keep horses in their lives and to achieve their goals.Nothing makes her happier than to help people achieve those goals!
In addition to her students, she taught her daughters, who all
became excellent riders, winning both locally and nationally.
Ruth, the most single minded competitor of the three girls, placed at many National Hunter/Jumper Finals. Her impressive achievements included;
--4th in the USEF/PESSOA Medal Finals at Harrisburg
--3rd in the
HBO/Marshall & Sterling Jr. Medal
--Top Twenty in the USET/BET Talent Search Finals at Gladstone, N.J.
--Winner of the Katie Battison Horsemanship Award at the NEHC Medal
